What kind of music is everyone into? I'm mostly into indie rock...but have a taste for just about anything. Anyone a fan of The Shins and heard their new album "wincing the night away"? If so, what do you think about it?

In Flames, Alexisonfire, Sum 41, Rammstein, Linkin Park, Our Lady Peace, AFI, Billy Talent, Underoath, Oomph, Pink Floyd, Queen, Supertramp, Billy Idol, David Bowie, U2. Yep I like my variety  but I prefer the first ones on that list. In Flames is my favourite at this time. They are a heavy metal, screamo band. My favourite band from long ago is Pink Floyd.

It's funny you mentioned that. I used to dislike the song Miss Murder from that album. Now i like it. I also like the song The Leaving Song Pt.2 but thats from one of their older albums. As for my favourite songs of all, Take This Life - In Flames, Reroute to Remain - In Flames, My Sweet Shadow - In Flames. (I think you get the pattern. )

Since I know all of you are loyal Kevin Federline listeners, I thought you might enjoy his new NFL Super Bowl commerical. It's quite funny.

Right now i'm listening to Mama by the Spice Girls.

I pretty much listen to anything that is pop / classic rock, and techo.

Yes i'm going to get Flamed but i dont give a crap. If you ride a lift at BC and you hear the Spice girls or Britney Spears (her first cd) more then likely it's me working that lift...

Man! It's all Dream Theater, Van Halen, and Sergei Rachmaninov.
And may Pink Floyd live on forever, truly.

I like mostly classic rock and some alternative. Favorite bands I listen to frequently are: Rush, U2, OK GO, Daughtry (The 3rd place guy from last years American Idol), and also some 80's music such as: Big Country, Depeche Mode, The Cure, etc. I cannot make myself like country however despite my wife's occassional efforts.

It's pretty good, I'd like to own it. I have Oh, Inverted World but I discovered yesterday that it has a scratch on it :crying:

I'm pretty open to anything except gangsta rap and Top 40. I've been known to listen to country, as long as it's not the canned 'crossover' stuff that passes for 'country' these days. My collection includes Zepplin, Emmylou Harris, Death Cab For Cutie, Keane, Guster, Tool, Matthew Good, Nikolai Khrenikov, Limblifter, Leonard Bernstein, The Tragically Hip, Nickel Creek... and so on.

Also good Genesis Cd's are Abocab and the self titled one that was released in '82. It's unfortunate that Phil Collins has now become the ballad king. He was pretty good when he rocked a little.

John...you must pick up Chutes too Narrow while you're buying the new one! A friend of mine here at Jackson also gave me some James Mercer solo accoustic stuff which is pretty darn good...PM me if you want a copy. Death Cab is really good...listening to you can play these songs with chords at the moment. Also a huge fan of Guster

Depeche Mode WOOT! I only have 3 of their songs but they are awesome! Blue Monday by New Order is a great one hit wonder from the 80s that I also enjoy.

Oh you said some magic words there... my all-time favorites are Depeche Mode (been a fan since 84) and the Cure (since 86). Cant get tired of them. Big Country.. I remember them... almost a one hit wonder.

Do you remember The Dream Academy? Life in a Northern Town... another one hit wonder...

New Order had more hits than just Blue Monday -> so they aren't a one hit wonder in my book.
