Theres a place for all of God's creatures, right next to the mashed potatoes.

Thats a newer one. They generally aren't vault drives. If you look in the drive terminal as the cabin is coming in, check out the inner guide rail and there is a motor then a few shafts that connect to the bullwheel. There used to be a site with grip diagrams but I dont know where it is.

Ok, it has been a while since I have been to Water World, but it's winter. Does anyone know how they open the cabin doors? There are no open/close rails at the stations, because all the doors open simultaneously.

Isn't it odd that "politics" is made up of the word "poli" meaning many, and "tics" meaning blood-sucking creatures?

Possibly some sort of electrical system. That just seems like it would be more of a hastle than a manual rail.

I would like the idea of an open/close rail, but they would have to have that relatively early on to open all 5 carriers, so the doors might open early. I think it would be awesome if they turned it into a regular gondola, with 4 person carriers, but I don't think that they get enough traffic to make such an upgrade. A regular chairlift would be nice too, like a double.

Did they have any problems with their gravity grips like yan or was it a more effective design?

I haven't heard of any accidents there, so I'm guessing it was more effective. I hope it was more effective, or I'm walking!

The tramway at Waterworld is an old Yan from Las Vegas, Circus Circus to be exact... Circus Circus gave it away when it wouldn't work for their purposes. They never cashed the check from Waterworld because of the liability.

It is a fixed grip unit that does not go around the bullwheel. It is essentially a pulse-reversible gondola.

The cabin door opening mechanism is hidden in the roof of the cabins and is a compressor using compressed air on a cylinder. The power is obtained by a finger system that makes a connection as the cabins enter the terminal.

Do you happen to know what year this gondola was installed at Circus Circus?

So were the towers from Circus Circus? They are different. Were they from Yan or Poma? Why did they even use these towers?

Why didn't they have the standard towers. Stability? Other reasons?
