A recent study concluded that it's feasible to have a lift that runs from the Kittitas Valley to Mission Ridge Ski Area, WA. The 11,500-foot long aerial lift through the Naneum Creek basin northeast of Ellensburg would cost anywhere from $15 to $30 million to build and a $1 million opperating cost.

For some reason, these numbers don't sound correct to me. $1 million to opperate a lift that will only be in use for 7 months of the year seems awfully high, along with the cost of the lift. So much money is wasted on red tape these days.

and the treehuggers would have a field day, if and when this ever went into the permit process. The would 'find' an endangered animal, or something of the sorts.
We don't want the lift built, because this is where Big Foot lives.
Ya i have a problem with the millon dollor operating budget to. Unless they are planning to run it in the summer for tourests, and mtn. bikers.

Speaking of Mission Ridge, yesterday winds were in excess of 100 miles per hour for 20 hours, from 4 am to midnight, with max gusts of 136 mph. They removed the chairs from Liberator Express, but I am sure there is other damage. They are closed until at least Thursday.

What kind of lift are they thinking? With that kind of money, they could come up with the world's first detachable tram.

Theres a place for all of God's creatures, right next to the mashed potatoes.
"You could say that a mountain is alot like a woman, once you think you know every inch of her and you're about to dip your skis into some soft, deep powder...Bam, you've got two broken legs, cracked ribs and you pay your $20 just to let her punch your lift ticket all over again"
