Does anyone have any old trail maps for Aspen Highlands and know any of the old lift names other than Exhibition 2, Olympic and Cloud Nine?

Today, I spent some time looking for history about Aspen Highlands and had a hard time finding anything of importance. While skimaps.com had a great collection of old trail maps for the area, that site is currently still shut down.

I'm currently working on updating the Aspen Highlands page for Skilifts.org

Those trail maps would be great Skier since it will help me place lift names with lift stats.

Some of these maps have stats too so you can match them up with the surveys. I actually only have these two, the one I thought was older was the same as the 83-84 one.

The original Exhibition lift (Exhibition 1) was built in 1958 when the area opened and removed in 1993 when the current L-P Exhibition HSQ was installed which ran the length of both original Exhbition lifts. The Nugget lift was also removed that same year (I'm not sure why they didn't just have the new lift cross over it). The original Loge Peak chair also was installed close to 1958 although since the bottom terminal was much higher (you had to ride Cloud Nine or Olympic to reach Loge Peak), I'm not sure what they had between the Merry-Go-Round restaurant and the bottom of Loge Peak since the original Cloud Nine and Olympic chairs appeared to be quite a bit newer than the original Loge Peak. The Smuggler lift was removed in 1992 and much of it was left laying on the slope until the following Summer. The Golden Horn and Grand Prix poma lifts were removed the same year the current L-P Thunderbowl triple was added which I think was 1997.

Exhibition 2, Cloud Nine (Riblet double), and Olympic all were removed in 1999 when the current L-P HSQ Cloud Nine was installed. The bottom terminal is lower than the original Cloud Nine, however, I wish they installed the bottom terminal where the Grand Prix Poma formerly was. It is a hassle to ski Moment of Truth and other runs off Oly bowl and have to ski all the way down to the bottom. I miss Grand Prix poma very much. I wish they would at least put in a T-Bar or something back in that line. Anyone heard of any future lift additions in the Oly bowl area??

I felt the same way when I was at Aspen Highlands about the current Cloud Nine Express and I think there should have been a mid-unloading stage at mid mountain. That way beginners don't have to ski all the way down to the bottom of the Exhibition and experts can do laps more easily.
