Load tests simulate service conditions plus 10%.
They started in most states in the early 70s after some unexpected new lift failures.
Always done on new or rebuilt lifts.
Some agencies require areas to perform load tests on all lifts at set yearly intervals regardless of construction date.

Tarps and rainy weather quite common at time of tests.
Page is quite long – 56Kers should hit the stop button after a minute and first part of page with lift images should appear.

We have to do load tests every five years... How is a T-Bar load tested...

I don't know but it would make sense to anchor some sort of winch with a spring scale that measures force and use that to determine if the lift is fit for use. I don't think though it is as much a problem as it is a surface lift because there is usually not extreme dangers, other than the tow line whipping you if it breaks, associated with a T-bar.
