I would have actually liked if the on hill skier/rider density was that LIGHT at Mt Snow this past weekend
For those Northeasterners used to sitting in grid-lock on the highways in and around both New York City and Boston, they felt right at home. Probably the highest skier/rider density on hill that I can remember in my almost 30 years of skiing
On the flip side though, they did sell alot of tickets to help offest all the snowmaking expenses that have accrued so far this year

should be titled, "snow drought hits Midwest/East X-Mas '06", or "Da White Ribbons of Death"
Here are a couple real-life ribbons..... thank God snowmaking is to be able to resume within 24 hrs..... I've been participating in a "snow dance" daily. What a cat with a huge bucket could do for us now. Have lots of snow, just not on the tit of the hill.

Pine Knob looked a little better, since they made some snow last night, but only for a few hours. Holly is in sad shape.
However, I think its finally turning, and with any luck they will be back open by the end of the week. Yes, I know not the biggest of areas, but we all get our start somewhere and move on to bigger and better things.

That is pretty bad down there. You should try and get more images of pine knob and mt holly as there are none of them around now.

Ah yes. I've got plenty of pictures to add to this site. I took a lot more out at Mt. Holly the other day. Plus, I've got a ton of other pictures from around Michigan, Colorado, Utah, and a bunch of places out East.
I just came across this site last week, but I'll definetely add stuff as a I get time. Hopefully spending more time skiing too.
Speaking of the pictures in this thread - Boyne Mt, Shanty/Creek - Schuss, & Mt. Holly, its been pretty bad around here. I made it up to Nubs and they seem to be doing okay.
Anyways, the only other time I remember it this bad around Christmas/New Years was in 1994-1995 season. I remember going to Boyne Mt. and it looked like it does in those pictures.

Yep, the natural drought is over, its winter. Current conditions, Man Barn, Boyne City, MI, snow, wind, and a warm +2 F (were lucky). Got a foot or two, hard to tell with 30-40 mph winds. Too bad its too cold, the lake effect slows down, with diameter smaller flakes, and the big lake is beginning to freeze.
