No new snow up in Muskoka. In fact, it is melting :crying: The only good news is that they were able to open up the main hill although is is fairly icy and about 35 feet wide at the narrowest point. I went last night and it was VERY icy in some sections but that means it was perfect for bombing  Even though it was icy, that didnt stop me from pulling off some sweet turns

Anywhere they have not made artificial snow, it is still grass :cursing:

Bad news: Warm weather and rain is forecasted.

WB has heaps of snow. We got another 50cm on new years day. Yesterday we shovelled off the roof of our workshop (trailer) as it was starting to bend a little.

Real scary in the east right now. I feel very comfortable saying that this weekend in the east that more greens fees will be bought at golf courses than lift tickets sold at ski areas :cursing:

I had to do a double take on Tuesday afternoon when I looked out my office window mid afternoon and the person across the street was actually cutting his lawn (and it needed to be cut) - Granted I live in Connecticut, but still it's January :w00t:

Well, LiftKid, I hate to ruin your fantasies, but Summit County isn't having quite a spectacular year yet. It's normal to below averege due to the fu :censored2: ing upslope moisture. Denver is probably over 100% averege snowfall with two storms, and Loveland's doing great, but Vail is horrible, with a 30 inch base. We don't even get green. It's ugly brown. Stay out of the bowls!!

I know. I personally took that picture. Very very windy and not a lot of snow. Loveland got a lot though on Fridays storm.

Crystal got a foot last night. It was really good today, but crowded. Unfortunately Stevens Pass had an avalanche across the road and the Summit was out of power so Crystal was the place to be for everyone. Crystal has had power 2 days of the last 3 weeks but they can fully operate on generators. Apparently it is hurting their bottom line though.

Two metre base, two metres out of the last storm cycle... what you mean, eh?
We're not doing too bad, better than Vail, at least  45" base reported this week. Lots of windblown, though, and the alpine areas are getting scoured bad.

Will you stop bragging about Crystal! It's making me jealous!!!

But some of the worst snow this season isn't even on this continent. Austria is having the worst snow year on record. Ski areas are reporting less than 20 cm of base!! It looks horrible. The current conditions are comparible to Boyne MI at this time.

Hey, we had our horrible season 2 years ago if you recall. These were taken around the same time in 04-05.

Oh yeah... It looks like you had the worst of it. Whistler never got above a 20" base that year, and after February got nothing but rain. White sploches of death!

That wasn't too bad of a year for us. Winter Park broke 100" base around mid Jamuary.
