Winter isn't coming anymore, it's technically here as of Saturday. At the moment, there's no shortage of rocks and twigs poking out in Park City right now, and they've predicted snow every night this week and not a flake has fallen yet. I'm still having a great time, and there's still good snow to be found, but the bottom of my skis have looked better before. The overly optimistic Canyons snow report says a major winter storm is expected to impact the region in all caps, so I'm hoping they're on to something here. How's it looking everywhere else?

Southern Vermont just got the biggest dump of the year, a whopping 2 inches followed by 2 inches of ice.

Central CO is doing all right; we've gotten bigger dumps in the past but an inch a day for a week still adds up to seven inches in seven days.

The PNW is incredible so far, Crystal opened 2 weeks early and so far has gotten 221" of natural snow. The typical season gets 350" so we are doing really well.

We got half an inch (about 1cm) last night but the outlook for the next 2 weeks looks pretty grim. I wonder if Hidden Valley Highlands will grant refunds  As for skiing this year, i have yet to go to the local "white ribbon of death" for the sake of my skis. Maybe ill convince my dad to go tonight since they were actually able to make snow last night.

Well here in Tahoe we are way below what we had this time last year, or even the year before that.
We have been under a winter storm warning since Tueeday afternoon, with huge winds (100 mph on the ridges.) What little snow that has fallen, was all blown into my parking lot above Boulder Lodge at Heavenly.
Heaveny was making snow last night around the east side of the resort, but i would be surprised if what they made didn't get blown down in the Carson Valley.
Weird yaer for weather indeed. Glad i haven't broke out the skis yet. I'll wait till after the new year.
I recommend if your foing out, take the rock boards, not the good ones.

Place your bets now.
If this is the same storm that came b Tahoe, tie everything down. It's gonna get windy

Minnesota: Let me check..... A ton of grass. Although we can still ski, but the snow isn't really good. From my city south there is snow. Everywhere else has grass. We just have a little dusting of icy stuff. We might get some at the end of the weekend though!

Well its snowed a few inches the last couple days here not really worth mentioning. BUT it dumped today. Hailey, ID (where i live 20 mins south of sun valley) we got 6 inches just this afternoon. Im happy i had the day off from lift maint. but we had 3 EMS calls and 1 huge car accident happen in a one hour period. It was crazy especially since we ran out of ambulances by the time we got to the 5 car accident (no one serious or killed).
sorry about the lack of snow everywhere else. if it makes you feel better sun valley is still below average on total snowfall

Well I went skiing and i was surprised how decent the conditions are considering there is almost no snow to be seen anywhere else. It was icy in places but me and my friend had a good time.

I took some pictures of the hill (Hidden Valley Highlands). Part of one run and a quad chair was open.
