I tried to go to skimaps.com a couple times. The first time it said, "this page cannot be displayed," and then after refeshing it, it said, "access denied, you need a password."

Anyone know what's going on?

I don't think the person who is running skimaps.com right now is paying for the hosting fee on Interspan. So Interspan locked the account until the owner pays up.

This is a pretty good copy of the website. Its a little slow but its nice to still be able see the site.

Archive.org Ski Maps Site

Update: Actually, only the smaller maps will load.

I think a good database driven version would be very helpful. The only issue is whether ski resorts freak out about copyright. I don't see why Skimaps.com was so strict about that.

yea, I have always thought of making another site like Ski Maps which allows people to add maps to the collection (database system) but I am already doing 4 other websites which means I wouldn't be able to spend much time on it. Maybe in the future..

Skilifts.org owns the naming rights to SkiTrails.org and SkiMaps.org. :)

And I have a hosting plan for them too....

Because they exist, doesn't mean that they are being used. :) Actually, nothing has been done with them.
