It certainly doesn't look to be in bad condition.

It looks similar to the grip on the River Run gondola @ keystone.

The Eagle Express quad at Solitude, UT (a VonRoll/CTEC combo) has that grip and is incredibly smoothgoing over towers

The northstar gondola isn't smooth.
