BTW: Does anyone know why Copper didn't just replace the double chairs with Heron triple chairs and leave the original lift in place?

There were various reasons. As liftmech said, Heron was no longer in business; the bullwheels, line gauge, and return terminal clearance weren't sufficient to accept triple chairs; and the drive and tension system also needed to be upgraded. It made more sense to put in a new lift (+1 for the salesmanship of Yanek!)

If nothing else, he was definitely a salesman, eh? I was told that the reason our C-1 lift is a Heron-Yan and not a complete Heron is that Yanek sold Copper on the idea of a new terminal when he did the relocate.

Thought of a couple more:
The triple version of the Eskimo lift at Winter Park which was the relocated original Zephyr lift (1983 Yan triple) was relocated to Jackson Hole WY as the Sweetwater triple. If I'm not mistaken it was reinstalled at Jackson in 2005 and left Winter Park with Yan terminals and Poma line gear in 1999. An interesting note: This lift was one of the few with the plastic carriers which said "Yan" on them from 1983-1993. The Poma carriers were added the same year the Endeavour (Poma triple) was installed (1993). Those plastic carriers are found all over Winter Park and two of them even made it down to Bethoud Living Center (A nursing home in Berthoud, CO approx 25 mi north of Denver) to use as benches for their residents.

Another: Lift 2 at Vail (1976-1992 Yan double) went to Beaver Creek as their lift 2 in 1992 and still remains although there are rumours of a soon replacement.

Not sure where the old lift 16 & 17 Yan double chairs built the same year went. The old Corona lift at Eldora may have received the chairs off old #16 (Vail owned Eldora at the time (1985)).

Also, speaking of Eldora, are the current side-bar Heron-Poma chairs on Cannonball from Copper's old B lift. I'm fairly certain they replaced the original center-bar style chairs the same year B was removed (1998)??

How about a Hall 500 T-Bar originally installed in 1959 at Elk Mountain and moved to Heidleburg (Blue Marsh) in 1969, removed in 2006 and installed @ Rowell Hill in 2006-2007
Up and running...

I found out today that Ski Discovery in Montana got its Anaconda chair from Deer Valley, its Granite Chair from Keystone, and its Miner-Denver double from Ski Apache. Does anyone know which lift lifts those were at Keystone and DV? I was thinking either Ruby or Santiago at Keystone and maybe Clipper at DV?

Not being familiar with Ski Discovery, do you have any information (Manufacturer, year, HP, Length, Vertical) on the lifts in question to help determine their origin?
Or is that what you are looking for??

Well all I know that both lifts are Yan triples installed in 2002. I know that the one from Keystone now has a length of 5600' and vertical of 1660'. The lift from Deer Valley now has a length of 5200'. Cameron has pictures of them I think since he went there this summer, although they aren't on the site yet.

Santiago is at Big Sky and Ruby/Teller is at Beaver Mt. My guess is that Erikson is at Discovery Basin and Clipper at Discovery.

Some revisions in regard to Berkshire East, MA:

The Poma Triple from Magic Mountain was taken down in 1995, the same year it was installed at Berkshire East. It was standing while Magic was closed.

The Diamond Express (not Diamondhead) came from Sierra Ski Ranch, CA and was installed at Berkshire East in 1978
The Top Notch Double (Hall) came from Mt. Tom, and was originally installed at Magic Mountain, MA if I'm not mistaken.
Another one not on the list

An SLI Double chair, installed at Mackinac Island, MI in the mid 1970s, was installed at Berkshire East, MA in the late 1970s as the Little Beaver Double. It was removed in the mid 1990s and installed at either Wintergreen, VA, or Winterplace, WV, I don't know which one. About 1,000' long.
