Another picture of the decomissioned Ski Team lift's remain.

Also, the PCMR facebook page says that Pioneer lift is having mechanical issues they've been working out all week, even though the runs are open over there

Motherlode triple at PCMR. There was talk of replacing it in 2008, but they put in the Crescent lift instead, and Motherlode is still open for business.

At Vail, the Sourdough Express lift's loading area has been reconfigured to eliminate the gooseneck turn that was necessary when coming from Patrol Headquarters.

I like that. There's always coffee in the lift shop, now there's a lift in the coffee shop!

Looking at Iron Mountain at The Canyons. The lift in the foreground is Short Cut, formerly Lookout, which is currently on its third set of chairs in a decade. Set number 2 had footrests

Interesting- I never saw the second set. What manufacturer were those from? I am guessing the original Yan chairs which were part of the lift when it was the Arrowhead lift were effected by the gusset issue and maybe they opted to replace the chairs instead of doing the modifications on all of them. At least they didn't down-grade the lift to a single.

Set number 2 were Yan chairs left over from the purchase of the old Wasatch/Quincy triple from Deer Valley. Most of that lift became the much shorter Day Break triple, but the extra chairs (with the original Arrowhead hanger arms) were used on Lookout for a few years.

Here are some pictures of Nubs Nob's new rope tow. this lift was installed last summer. The area was formerly a superpipe and was serviced by a multi skilift handle tow. However, Nubs decided that they did not want to do the superpipe anymore and converted the run into a dedicated race training facility. They wanted it to be served by a faster lift for increased laps. So the handle tow was replaced with the new rope tow. What make lift the most interesting is that it uses old Heron chairlift sheaves. The same style used on the old meadows lift at boyne mt and chair 4 at loveland.

The normal unloading ramp is not used in the summer. unloading happens at the drive terminal.
Posted ImagePosted ImageThe lift is set up for summer downloading. The return line is brought down to ground level so passengers can unload. The haul rope is set on the two wheel assembly on the top of the loading tower during the winter.

Looks like the guide sheave assembly (BB? Can't remember) on the light side of the drive terminal needs to be flipped over when they do that-- the rope is loading up the single opposing sheave....

I noticed that too. My solution would be to use an assembly that has two sheaves on top and bottom so no flipping is necessary. It has been working for them so far though.

Must be. There are three 1/2" bolts holding that one sheave on, so I'd be checking them every so often. Just sayin'.
