As close as snowboarders can get to Deer Valley (without losing a pass). The Empire lift at DV is in the background

The Big Sky lift maintenance department got a little creative...

Doesn't look too comfortable though

Oh i beg to differ with your comment there bud, (sorry no pictures to show differantly, but it happens every year)
Ask the Empire Lift Forman and Empire Patrol how many snowboarders the get at the bottom of Empire each season. I caught 9 or 10 while i was there. Thier claim, they claim didn't see an ropes seprating the two differant resorts.
hmm i wonder what the rope ont eh PCMR side and the ropes on the DV sides mean.

Yep, when I was there, there were tons of tracks underneath the rope.

Hah, Heron-Poma triple chair grips. The JH boys know about those!

Cool chair!

Well, today was 67 degrees F at Buck Hill. Not much left of anything there. Here is a webcam shot of Milk Run (main run) from today just after they closed. They're closing at 6:00 every night now due to the bad snow conditions. They close for the season after tomorrow.

I was just looking through the main website, and I don't know how I never noticed this before, but my family is in one of the skilifts.org pictures  My mom's in the light blue helmet on the right, and my aunt has the curly hair and the white jacket in the middle, and my grandpa is in the blue jacket and tan hat behind the guy in the red. Don't see myself in there anywhere though. I think Cameron took the picture

Was your mom freaked out when she saw the picture?

Yes, I did take the picture and it's from the 2002/2003 ski season. Maybe you're in one of my other pictures. I took a lot that day.

Yeah, she thought it was pretty funny. After I saw that one I checked all the other ones, I didn't make it in any of them. I was probably right outside the frame in that picture at the beginning of the day. That picture's been up for years, I can't believe I didn't catch that

Palmer Express at Timberline, OR

The sheave assemblies on the side of the towers are new since 2000. I'm guessing the haul rope is placed on them during the winter months to relieve pressure on the tower head assemblies, which have been known to snap from the weight of the snow on them.

Not a lift, but I didn't want to start a new topic.

Anyone know where this development is? It is called Timberline and the picture is from James Niehues' Website.
