New to the site, and maybe you have discussed this in the past. I see that Snow Bird is spending 5.6 million on the new Peruvian Express. I was wondering what some of the new and used lifts have cost. Lifts can be any type and at any resort.

Peruvian Express is more expensive than most because it is very long and has a vault drive. Rather than having the drive overhead in the terminal, it is connected to a drive shaft and the drive is below ground. I would say most of the high speed quads being built this summer are in the 4-5 million range. Jackson's new tram will cost $15 million.

Average prices for different ski lifts
(installed) from DoppelmayrCTEC in 2002:

* Fixed-grip chair -- $1 million

* Detachable quad chair -- $2.7 million

* Gondola -- $5 million-$6 million

* Tram -- $12 million-$13 million

These prices have gone up some

Are FG chairs really running at $1 million? I thought I heard around $500,000 these days.

It really varies based on size of the lift and whether it includes installation.

What about some of the used ones? Any idea of some of the more recently removed sold for, and what it costs to have them removed/installed?

If you are looking for new, Leitner-POMA has a form you can fill out and fax for a bid. However you need specific information about your site and the lift you want.
