What the Hell - you all know who you are.
There are three roads to ruin; women, gambling and technicians. The most pleasant is with women, the quickest is with gambling, but the surest is with technicians. Georges Pompidou

Lastchair 44, you are from Park City, Utah, and are you working at Costco? There is no Costco in Park City, and there are three Costco in Salt Lake City, one in Orem, and one in Odgen, which one you go?

I think most of the kids now graduating have the knowledge, but have no idea how it equates to the real world. The biggest things I see lacking are common sense and the ability to make a decision. These will either get you killed, or lead to someone else getting killed. Our guys go through a four year apprenticeship, and spend seven weeks a year at school. After about 7 or 8 years total you end up with a lift mechanic who can troubleshoot, make decisions and effect repairs in a timely and safe manner. The secret is in keeping people around for that long.
