Has anyone seen a t-bar used to get mountain bikes up the hill in the summer? I am looking for info and would like to try it.

I think you could do some serious damaged to a t-bar while having it haul up a mountain bike. Your likely to derail the haul rope and maybe the mountain bike will get stuck/held on something like a tower and you could damaged the spring box and maybe some other equipment. I just think this is a disaster waiting to happen.

I have to agree; A mountain bike is way to large and cumbersome.

That looks to be a modern Doppelmayr T-Bar

Hah! fooled ya... that's a 1971 Doppelmayr t-bar :) Mountain biking on our t-bar is not possible, there are parts of the lift that you can only use with enough snowpack.

I don't know why but i have always liked T-bars
(even though i have never rid or seen one in person)

Anyway i have seen someone try to get a mountain bike go up a rope tow, don't know if they were successful however.

I'm not sure, but I think Stoneham does it once a year, but maybe they une the chairlift.

Here's a pic from the website.
