Are there many vonroll skilifts still running? I would imagine there would be more then skyrides.

There are a few chairlifts still running here and there. Also, Keystone has a Gondola made by vonroll.

Silver Mountain, ID also has a Von Roll gondola which is currently the worlds longest single stage gondola.

I know that Silver Mountain also has a couple of Von Roll triples, and I think that Gore Mountain in NY has a Von Roll HST.

Eagle Express was built during a short period of cooperation between vonroll and CTEC wherein CTEC got much of their detachable experience I believe. In an old topic on the fourm there was a list of all the VonRoll CTEC's built but I wasn't able to find it. Cameron probally still has the list.

Ragged, NH has a triple with a Von Roll drive.

There's also a double, I think Blue Knob? in the mid-Atlantic with a Von Roll drive.

The "Von Roll" at Ragged Mtn is actually a Hall (moved from another ski area) which Von Roll rebuilt and stuck their name on. Von Roll does that a lot, since they own the Hall parts.

I guess the question should be: Of all the lifts with the Von Roll name on them, how many (and which ones) are originals by Von Roll?

Not too many. I think that the Mongolia Poma at Vail is part Von Roll.

You can't really call a lot of the fixed grips Von Roll built totally Von Roll as a lot of them use hall designs. The lifts at silver mountain are a good example of this as they have Hall designs. The carriers are probably the best example of this. There are some things that VR did change though. Like the motor room design on VRHL fixed grips are designed to look like Von Roll's but are on a Hall style terminal.

I believe that the Aerial Tramway at Jay Peak in Vermont was built by Von Roll. It has been upgraded in the last 5 or 6 years with new tram cabins and electrical & mechanical upgrades that I cannot speak to the specifics on. Check with your Lift mechanic friends in Vermont who can tell you the details on that lift: when it was first built etc.

Chair 4 at Snow Summit is a Von Roll quad chairlift. However, it uses Hall parts as it looks just like Chair 8 which is a Hall quad.

Yup, Jay Peaks Tram is a Von Roll, but as you mentioned, its been upgraded significantly in the past 10 years. I am unsure how much has been changed though.

Gore Mountain has the 1985 Von-Roll HST Adirondack Express.
