I've really enjoyed all the books that Mountain Sports Publishing has released in the last few years that have covered the history of some of North America's biggest and most popular resorts. However, it's been two years since it released its last book (Deer Valley : The Quest for Excellence) and I'm kind of doubtful MSP will release anymore books because of that big of time span. I just recently purchased a new copy of Park City : Mountain of Treaure and noticed on the inside it was published by Mountain Press Publishing instead of MSP which makes me believe that Mountain Sports Publishing is done for. This woulde make since because both Skiing and Ski Magazine are going through hard times right now because of the decline in readers/subscribers and the funds just wern't there to continue to make these wonderful history books. I'm hoping that Mountain Press Publishing will continue to release new ski resort history books, but I think MPP might have just bought the rights to reprint these books.
If anyone is interested in purchasing one of Mountain Sports Press' ski resort history books, they are available for sale on Mountain Press Publishing's website for their original price. This might be cheaper than purchasing a used book from Amazon.com since some people are selling their books well above the original price because they believe these books are no longer being published.
