From one who kissed the runway at Oakland upon returning from Vietnam:

Happy Independence Day! Enjoy the holiday and your right to celebrate it in any way you see fit.

Happy 4th, and thank you to all the men and women who fight to defend our freedom.

Theres a place for all of God's creatures, right next to the mashed potatoes.

We just had the best aerial show that we have had in the last few years here in Ketchikan, 5 float planes flying in formation and a Helicopter carrying a flag flew by behind. We always have a great parade, food and turnout from the people that live here and who are visiting off the cruise ships, especially for a town of 8,200.

Good pyro display in Leadville this year.

I"ll take this country, even with current political figures, over any other. Not many nations can claim to have kept the same form of government, and a relatively unchanged set of overall values, for 230 years. Happy birthday to the American republic.

Happy Birthday US of A, may all our southern friends (and those from Alaska) have a great weekend, and let's remember all of those that are not lounging with a beer by the Barbeque.
