Since doppelmayr finally bought enough stock tom merge the two companies, Garaventa has slowly been being phased out. However, I think they have found a new market for much smaller lifts. Check it out:

:shocking:

While this is going on, Garaventa is continuing to sell big lifts such as trams and multi cable ropeways under the garaventa name. their website also states that they make small surface lifts also. The doppelmayr name has made it's way into the url though:

Actually, Garaventa is now in charge of manufacturering the aerial trams, while Doppelmayr handles the other types of lifts. Doppelmayr also handed over its Von Roll section to Garaventa so you have to big aerial tram manufacturers building some sweet trams together. Before Doppelmayr bought Von Roll, it never built any trams.

Actually, the URL above is actually's Doppelmayr's domain name with the Garaventa name being a subdomain.

My dad's friend is actually going to be buying one of those staircase elevators to take stuff up to the second floor of his shop. I could try and convince him to purchase a Garaventa one.

There is a new Garaventa stair lift at my high school. It goes up the stairs in the football stadium. It is actually pretty cool looking. I have never seen it in operation though.

We have one in our school two which goes up the stairs. It looks pretty old and its quite noisy if it is used.

Yes, I have also seen the wheelchair things. They do look quite neat how they just wind up the stairs along the railings.
