I have verified that the Dakota triple is indeed from Southern Comfort. That would be its 3rd installation! Apparently it is being completely overhauled and galvanized.

I hope that was not a serious question. But anyway, Southern Comfort was a Heron-Poma triple. It'll be interesting to see what it looks like galvanized. With that said someone will have to take pics of it when installed

Southern Comfort was the name of a fixed grip chairlift at big Sky that was removed and replaced a few years ago. the lift stayed in storage and will be reused after being refurbished

I'm having a hard time understanding why Big Sky/Boyne would want to reuse this lift. Since it's a Heron-POMA, it must be pretty hard to find parts for it.

Used lifts are their thing. Shedhorn, Challenger, Lone Moose, Cascade, Little Thunder, White Otter were all installed used. They told me that Boyne installs all their fixed grips used, except Northway at Crystal which was too long they could not find a suitable used lift for.

Wolf Mountain in Utah is installing the Sterling triple from DV. This paragraph on their website seemed somewhat random:

For those interested in having a unique piece of skiing nostalgia adorn their home or garden, Wolf Mountain in Eden is offering triple chairs from the Sterling chair lift at Deer Valley (the lift that has had more Presidents ride it than any other lift in Utah!) and double chairs from the Jackson Hole area for $250.00 a piece. Each chair is being sold as is and are in good serviceable condition. (Footrests removed.)

Please, tell me the names of those US Presidents who rode Sterling. In the years i worked there,(1988-2003) not one President rode Sterling. Bill Clinton , when he brought his family out, he didn't ski , just his wife and daughter skied. Not even VP Gore rode it, when he came out a couple of times with the family.
Secreat service did not want any of those groups riding a slow chair, so they stayed where the hsq were located.

Well old chair 6 at Beaver Creek (replaced by Centennial Express) had at least 3 presidents ride it. My friend knows the person who loaded Jimmy Carter, Gerald Ford, and Ronald Reagan on a chair.

Best to my knowlegde of the history of the resort, Pres. Ford never has ever been to Deer Valley( at least in public view and certainly not during the ski season, he had a place in Vail.
And the level of security would of increased 10 fold, when there was some one of his imprtantance coming for a visit. Yes it is very noticable.

With the Clintons and Gore's visiting, we had to stop loading public for 5 min. so they could have plenty of emty chairs in front as well as behind You do as your told by the Secret Service, didn't matter if you had a full maze, you do what they say, or find yourself face down in the snow with 6 guys 'dogpiling' you. And yes that came down from management.

I found them to be very respectful and courteous when they showed up a week ago so Mrs. Cheney and a group of her friends could have a birthday lunch up here at our restaurants.

It appears that Tremblant is building a new lift this summer too that will connect the village with the Versant Sud.

Nope, if you read carefully, it is for the 08-09 ski season, being built next summer.
