As far as Office 2007 goes, I'm just as happy with Office 2003 or Office XP.

My two main setbacks:
1. My BIOS needed an update to recognize a secondary hard drive containing Vista.
2. I didnt know how to install a Vista driver for my NIC. Anyways, now im very pleased!

Theres a place for all of God's creatures, right next to the mashed potatoes.
"You could say that a mountain is alot like a woman, once you think you know every inch of her and you're about to dip your skis into some soft, deep powder...Bam, you've got two broken legs, cracked ribs and you pay your $20 just to let her punch your lift ticket all over again"

Min 256 for XP and 512 for Vista..
Vista looks nice but im gonna use XP until vista comes out officially and then switch.
I have this Microsoft Works database, of course, Works stopped working and the CD is cracked believe it or not. Do you guys think Microsoft would help me on this or should i just forget it. Otherwise, is there any convertion software to Excel or Access?

Slower than Beta 2. Some icon, pointer improvements. Way less bugs!

Office 2007 doesn't show a lot of improvements over older Office suites. I don't consider the new interface as an "improvement".
Windows Vista crashed before the actual install. Didn't warn me that the test machine didn't have enough RAM. Took 2 weeks to figure it out by myself. After I doubled it to the minimum reqs it took half of the day to install. Aero never ran. In fact, none of my computers, including my (new at that time) laptop, could run Aero. They are advertising stuff that most computers can't run. Way to go, Microsoft.
So, Windows Vista just looks like a Windows XP with (even) more (and useless and annoying) security features and n00b-proof computer rating. Wow, new icons. Wow, higher system reqs. Wow, sidebar. Wow, tablet PC and Media center at the same time on my Pentium 800 w/o any tablet, DVD drive, TV card or CD burner.
Had to find a bigger hard disk for that junk.
Yes, Vista disappointed me. I'm not anti-Microsoft, but I'm starting to lean on that side.
In fact, there was a time when Microsoft products were good, and that's why they were popular. Now with marketing offensives, that time is over. I'm strongly considering switching to Mac.
Right now I'm sticking with plain Windows XP and Linux 2.6.
BTW, most Aero-like stuffs (XGL, Beryl...) works perfectly under Linux on my Aero-incapable laptop. Pwned.

Do it! :) I switched to a Mac a few months ago, and haven't looked back. OS X is fantastic! It's so smooth... everything just works.
I kinda chuckled reading through this thread with all the problems with Vista already.

Welcome to the club!
My friends dad gave the Vista Beta a try and he couldn't do anything because it kept crashing.

I know, I used OS X a lot lately and I'm quite satisfied.
