Doppelmayr recently came out with heated chairlifts. The chairs that charge in the terminal, which heats mats in the seat. It seems like a very expensive but comfortable setup. Will it catch in here in North America? or will it be like Eight-Packs and stay a European thing. I could see places like Deer Valley and the Yellowstone Club going for it, we'll see.

While many of the lifts over in Europe are bubbled, I think this might be kind of nice feature for those cold days. However, if the chair isn't bubbled, it might just make your day worse since the heated seats would melt the snow and you might just sit down in a puddle of water and end up with a wet behinder when you get off. I ran into this problem a few times on a chairlift that had plastic seats and water would form in the areas you were supposed to sit. Not a fun day of skiing at all.

Although I'd tend to agree, have you ever sat on a black, warm seat cover that's been in the sun on the way down the lift? Feels soooo good on your butt, even though it only lasts a few minutes.
