I was looking at pictures of the Whistler mountain high speed quads and noticed that there was a slight difference between the garbanzo and big red's terminals. Which one is uni-g and which one is uni-m? The peak express also is a complete mystery to me. Some clarification would be great.

Big Red has the UNI design, while I believe Garbanzo has newer updated UNI terminal design. UNI-M refers to the terminal being modular I believe, rather than an actual terminal name. However, the UNI-G terminal is an actual terminal name and is the type in the picture below.

I've contacted both Doppelmayr CTEC and Doppelmayr/Garaventa about terminal names and have never gotten a reply back about this. Either Doppelmayr CTEC doesn't know since CTEC appears to be running things now or it doesn't feel like giving this information to the public. I'm not sure why Doppelmayr/Garaventa hasn't responded, but maybe it thought I should have contacted Doppelmayr CTEC or its PR people don't feel like looking it up.

Hopefully I can get of the lift identification pages up within the next few weeks since my workload is a lot less than last term. This will help answer a lot of your future questions probably.

Big Red and Emerald were built on original YAN terminals, which affected their design. They are both of the UNI heritage, whether or not they are a -G or -M I don't know. I believe the Peak is also an -M.

Why is the Peak chair so much different than any other? It has a unique terminal, and chairs with weird backs.

The Skyliner Express at Mt. Bachelor has a similar carrier design, probably to prevent the wind from picking it up since it can be pretty windy in that area.

The Peak Chair was built to accommodate regular carriers, bubble chairs and gondolas!! though it is doubtful that that will ever happen

Another Whistler guy! This is great! I can see bubble chairs cause that chair is so cold sometimes. And gondolas in the summer.
