Does anyone know what happened to Gemini today? it shutdown this morning and did not reopen until after 1:30pm. There 2 guys up on tower 2 working on the downhill side. Did a sesnor die or what . I don't think it was a derail due to the fact the lift hsd no one on it.

I would type more but for some reason in my left hand i can't move all fingers right now.

Since you made this post, I can explain clearly the Gemini Express lift stops and closes a lot to breakdowns. That's why I really want a six pack on that line with gates that would not break down as often.

Gemini does not close alot due to breakdowns...... It stops alot for the simple fact that it's a ski school lift. Sixpack on that line would be STUPID. Just look at Snowmass.

Why did you bump a topic from 2006?

I'm saying, on two of my trips ever to Winter Park, I've known of times they've had to basically close up the Gemini Express lift and force people to therefore use either Arrow or Zephyr Express, and I think it's breakdowns that's causing it plus the people.

On one of your two trips ever you can explain clearly that the lift breaks down a great deal? Were you working on the lift, or hanging out with the mechanics those times? Assumption is the mother of all #$%^ups, you know.

Okay, the first time this happened was in February of 2005 when I was on a Colorado Ski Academy trip, and the second time in January 2008.

ive been skiing winter park since 1996 and have never noticed anything like that. two times is not enough to make that kind of statement, plus if WP did have anything remotely wrong with that lift, they'd fix it.

I use that quote often to remind myself not to assume I know what's wrong with the lift. I think it applies nicely here as well.
