For the size of the lift, the Miner-Denver at Copper Peak sure has a long ride. Granted, it's only foot-traffic, but at less than 150 fpm, the 800 foot lift ride takes about 7 minutes. Oh, and it also climbs about 330 vertical in that short distance. Steepest lift I've been on!

See Gold Hill at Telluride. It's slightly longer but still has a badass rise.

HSQ: Sheer Bliss and Two Creeks are both more than 9,000 feet.
HSS: That's the Village Express
The Gondola ought to be Elk Camp or Silver Queen.

the HSQ I was talking about was at a different ski area...

Sheer Bliss is ~9200ft if I remember correctly. Two Creeks is ~9800ft long.

Elkcamp Gondi is only ~8600ft

Well they came within a few hundred feet. I did measure them in Google Earth. For comparison, the Beaver Run SuperChair is almost as long as Sheer Bliss in distance.

The old Killington Gondola was my longest ride on a lift: 17,526 feet / 25 minutes in three sections.
Whistler Blackcomb's Peak to Peak Gondola gets a mention as the longest single section lift: 14,414 feet
Killington's old Northeast Passage Triple was my longest ride on fixed grip: 9243 feet in 17 minutes
Longest ride on any chair: The Slidebrook Quad

One gondola that's longer than any mentioned so far is the 7,500 metre (24,600 feet) long Skyrail gondola in Queensland, Australia, split into two sections. It's not a ski lift (Queensland is like a hillier Australian version of Florida), its a scenic tourist ride over a forested mountain range. http://www.skyrail.com.au/

In 1964 and 1965 there was also a pair of fixed grip double chairs linking the small, snowbound ski resort of Charlotte Pass to a highway. They were 4757 metres (15,606 feet) and 3323 metres (10,902 feet) long. But they were built at right angles to prevailing winds and were on wind hold for days at a time, at other times passengers got frostbite. So this massively expensive project with the longest chairlifts in the world at the time was closed after only 2 years. More info at http://wikiski.com/w..._Pass_Chairlift

We have mile long T-Bars, Pomas and nutcracker lifts in Australia too. I think a mile is about the limit for surface lifts as people get too tired after any longer. But I'd be interested to hear of any seriously long surface lifts in North America.

Id have to say my longest 'distance' liftride would have to be the Heavenly Gondola @ 12149'.
Longest Surface Lift Ride (poma) would be the old Mystery Mountain Tbar @ Lutsen-- 4250'

Mannlichen gondola, longest in Europe. It doesn't look it but it is time wise.

Ngong Ping gondola in Hong Kong. 5.7km (3.451 miles), 25 minutes. Not exactly a lift, though base is at sea level, the highest tower is 584m (1916ft) with the top terminal at 444m (1456ft).

Yes, I rode Ngong Ping in January during a layover. The Tung Chung terminal is a very short bus ride from the airport. Beautiful day, pretty views. Lots of fun looking trails in the park the gondola passes over.

Here's an interesting article about Ngong Ping: http://tinyurl.com/8q9s9g5
