Longest HSQ in the world is the Slide Brook Express at Sugarbush, VT. I know it's one of my favorites and it's worth the $65 lift ticket to ride it.
Chairlift n. A transportation system found at most ski areas in which a series of chairs suspended from a cable rapidly conveys anywhere from one to eight skiers from the front of one line to the back of another.

Jackson's tram has 4130' (or so) of vertical. The Village Gondola at Whistler has two stages and serves most of the mountain's 5000' vertical. Aussierob works on that one and knows more than I do.

The tram at Palm Springs, CA has a vertical of 5873 feet. It is single stage. The bigger trams in the world are multi-stage.

I believe the largest 'tram' (cablecar to UK people) is the Vanoise Express linking La Plagne and Les Arcs in the French Alps - 200 people per cabin.
