Old F-lift was basically the same as the current Eagle in length, which means ride time was around 12 minutes.

Do you know where the Andesite lift might have been located on Big Sky because I do remember seeing a long Riblet chair installed at Big Sky in the old SAM Installation Surveys but it never fit the lift profile for the Challenger lift. I presume the Andesite lift was relocated and is now the Challenger lift. That would explain the upgrades by Superior Tramway.

Here's seconding the old Granite at Red - 8,200' long (according to an old lift map) and a 17-18 minute ride, I believe. Marmot's Caribou chair in its original full length seemed to go on forever as well - but that could have just been due to the impatience of youth!

The mountain that is south of the main mountain is called Andesite mountain so I think it was where the ramcharger quad is now.

I thought that lift was a Heron-Poma though before it was replaced by the Ramcharger.

The longest I have been on is definately chair 10 (Highline) at Vail which takes at least 15 minutes. It has 263 carriers. I can't imagine the maitenece on the inlaid grips. I know that's :offtopic: but it was on my mind.

Chair 2 at Loveland is long. It keeps stopping and slowing down all the time for unknown reasons.

Another long one is A lift at Breck. It's an old Riblet triple with 36 towers and 206 carriers. But here's the catch. It has a vertical rise of 600 feet and if it were a HSQ, it would have 15 towers. It runs at no faster than 300 fpm and takes 12+ minutes to ride

It's not the maintenance but the moving that takes forever on Riblet clips.

Chair two is a beginner lift and as such will stop a lot.

Yep, A @ Breck is the longest I've been on. I checked the map, and it said it takes around 14 minutes.

I totaly agree! Once while I was riding A, it took about 22 minutes because of all of the stops.

Alpine (A Lift) at Copper is pretty long. I think about 12 minutes.
The main double at Ski Cooper is long also. Its very slow.

A way to get around the length of lift 2 at Loveland is to ride lift 1 and ski down the catwalk and cut over to the midway load for lift 2 (near bottom of lift 6). Then load chair 2 at the midload, that way you can get some turns in between the long ride to the top.

Also, how about Sheer Bliss at Snowmass. I think I noticed 282 chairs + or - on it. Does anyone know if there are any lifts with over 300 chairs?

Not offhand, but imagine how long it takes to move grips on such a lift!

The Heron-Poma triple is up in "the bowl" and gets you access to the Lone Peak Tram.
The Andesite lift was a really long Riblet double.

JH has a very similar Heron-Poma as their Casper Bowl lift.

So the Riblet was probably where the Thunderwolf Express is now because the Ramcharger did replace an old Heron-POMA chairlift.

I think he is talking about Mad Wolf, the lift where Thunder Wolf Express is now.

Mad Wolf:
Built 1979
Length: 6169 ft
Vertical: 1733
Speed: 500 fpm
Ride Time: 12.34 minutes

The old NEP at Killington said it took 17 minutes but it was actually over 20. The only good thing was it rarely ever stopped because no one rode it. Most of the few people that did were first thing in the morning the guests at the Sunrise village. The midstation was about a 9 minute ride to it and if i was skiing there I'd get off there until i returned to the main area. it had 324 (plus or minus) chairs. Now the shortened version has 100 or so.
