I saw this a couple times today during the Dolphins game. It's a commercial for Capital One credit cards, and in it, there's a family of four riding up a Poma Omega high speed quad, slowed down for summer operations, but they're still wearing skis. You see the family getting off and standing at the top of a run right in front of the top terminal. There's about a second when you can see the name on the lift, but I can't make it out. Anyway, in the commercial, the dad goes 'skiing' down the run without snow on it, crashing into boulders. Then he goes snowmobiling on dry land too.

I'm trying to figure out where this lift is. It's a Poma Omega detachable quad, looks to be in the west (but I wouldn't swear to it). It's painted black with a small white logo showing the lift name. They show the drive terminal, which is the Omega drive terminal that Poma used in the summer of 2004 (see picture: http://www.skilifts.org/images/resort_imag...topstation3.jpg ). I've seen it about four times now, and I think it says 'Eskimo Express,' but that wouldn't make sense, unless some other resort built a lift called 'Eskimo Express' last year. Anyone else seen this commercial, and do you have any idea what lift this is?

Another thing I noticed in this commercial: in the first shot of the family on the chair, which is a regular Poma Omega quad chair, they show a bicable grip going down on the other side. The next time they show them, you can see the Omega grips, though

I think it's the Screaming Eagle Express or Olympic Express at Grouse. When I first saw the commercial (only the last 5 seconds) I thought it might be the Ruby Express but never had enough time to look at the carriers. I noticed on the third time viewing that the lift is a HSQ with no footrests. So this could really be the only logical answer.

But it could be the Eskimo Express. I never saw the Leitner logo on the terminal, just POMA.

If someone could send me link to the ad (if its online too) i would probably recognize Screaming Eagle or Olympic.

PS. Grouse has done filming for movies before so im sure they would do this.

Of course I love skilifts too, which is why I'm here. I'd like to learn more about them and maybe work in the Ski industry later on in life.

Let it snow.

I laughed when I saw that commercial. But now every time I see it, it gets less funny.

I dont think its anywhere in Colorado or the rest of the rockys because the forrest looks too dense to be rocky mountain forrest. The logo on the side of the station looks almost like a spiral with lettering arround it.

Theres a place for all of God's creatures, right next to the mashed potatoes.

"You could say that a mountain is alot like a woman, once you think you know every inch of her and you're about to dip your skis into some soft, deep powder...Bam, you've got two broken legs, cracked ribs and you pay your $20 just to let her punch your lift ticket all over again"

I got a copy of most of the Commercial on my computer right now. And I can't figure out how to take a screenshot of the video. I will either post the video on one of my servers or figure out how to take a screenshot of it.

Well, that is definitely not the Eskimo, the lettering is more stretched out. It looks like the last word is express, but it's got me there.

Isn't it odd that "politics" is made up of the word "poli" meaning many, and "tics" meaning blood-sucking creatures?

It is the Olympic Express at Grouse. Here's a pic of the bottom terminal with the logo seen in the commercial.

It's actually on both sides...it's just that the operator shack is blocking it in that picture.
