I am only 13 but I love Lifts a ton!!! I was wondering, I have heard about the POMA Phat Boy terminal but I am not aware of what on looks like. I would really like to see a picture or diagram if you might have one. I have seen their new Satlit station or whatever it is called.(can't quite recall) I also love to ski at Breckenridge!!!!! I would be happy to get some pictures of lifts from Vail. I do Think this site is very impresive!!!!! I also put some pictures in of a Ski area in Minnesota. It is Called Minnesota Ski Area under the Images section!!

Well the Phatboy terminal was just a short lived nickname for the Omega terminal when it was first introduced in North America. I doubt that Poma still refers to that today, but in a few of the older POMA ads in SAM Magazine, it said "Introducing the new Phatboy terminal by Poma. Now that's a phat ride!"

I am Wondering about Dopplmayr and Dopplmayr CTEC Terminal Names. I always wonder what the Dopps at Vail are called.

I am also wondering if anybody agrees with me that Dopplmayr Detachable chairlifts seem to have a less smooth ride.

I would agree that the older Doppelmayr HSQs arn't as smooth but ever since Doppelmayr CTEC has been using the Agamatic grip on some lifts, the ride has been very smooth.

I haven't been able to ride a Dopplmayr CTEC Detachable yet. However, I have ridden a Garaventa CTEC Fixed grip which had a much much smoother ride than POMA and Dopplmayr fixed grips.

The old Garaventa CTEC grip is pretty bumpy. The new Doppelmayr CTEC grips (both the torsion bar and the spring type) are noticeably more bumpy than whatever grips were on CTEC detachables from 2000-2003. I believe this was the Garaventa AK 400, but I've always been confused about that. Anyway, those 2000-2003 grips, whatever they are, are a good bit smoother than the new grips being used since the merger. The current Doppelmayr CTEC grips are much better than the old CTEC grip though
