There are now four areas open in CO- Arapahoe Basin, Breckenridge, Copper, and Loveland. We're not exactly being blessed with natural snow either, but at least it's been cold enough for making it ourselves. Copper does have two runs that are all-natural- Hallelujah and Bariloche off Storm King (opening today).

Actually there are 5 areas open in Colorado. Wolf Creek opened their Nova lift yesterday and the Treasure lift today. 8" mid-mountain base, YUK!

The DV snow report has said it's 61 degrees and cloudy for the last two weeks, and the cam shot shows a foot or more of snow at Silver Lake. They're not the best at updating. Looks like they got a good bit out in Utah though

Willamette Pass is the worst. It probably still has the 2001 snow report on its site. Actually, the last time I checked the Willamette Pass site, the Current Conditions page was all messed up.

I'm kind of hoping that this storm that's moving in will drop another 6 inches or so in the mountains but it's warmed up a little and it's raining at the base of a lot of them, but snowing up top. I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing.

Snowin' like a big dog in the Colorado high country right now! Most Summit County areas had 18-20 inches over the weekend and a big impulse has run through in the last few hours with about the same amount predicted for tonight and tomorrow. I-70 closed from Floyd Hill (MM 248) to East Vail.
Oil up your skis and boards!!

Here is a view outside of the house tonight. Nothing substantial but it is nice to see the flakes fly. Nubs Nob is threatening to fire up the snow guns tonight so if they do, I will be happy.

That looks like Edmonton recently. All we've had are dustings of snow, and unfourtunatley it's either warmed up to a balmy 17 degrees or rained like it did today. There is no snow in the forecast for a week, and the temperatures are going to stay in the high single digits for the next 7 days. We NEED snow.

Still absolutely no snow for the Tahoe Area. Mammoth opened on the 10th with about 1 foot of real snow and about 18 inches of manmade snow. Heavenly is opening this wednesday with pretty much 100% manmade snow. Here's some pics of how they've covered the mountain with the fake stuff:

Scratch the wednesday opening for Heavenly:

Quote

Due to challenging weather conditions, Heavenly has been forced to delay its opening day.

We understand that many of you are anxious to get out on the mountain. We share your enthusiasm and are employing the West Coast's largest snowmaking system to meet your expectations of quality. Unfortunately, strong temperature inversions have made our snowmaking efforts a challenge.

We're making snow whenever possible and have good coverage on a few runs. We only need a couple nights of good snowmaking conditions to provide the level of quality experience Heavenly is known for. Rest assured, we're working to open as soon as possible. Please keep checking this space for updates and current conditions.

goddam weather, whats wrong with you?!?!?!

There is tonnes of snow falling in the mountains right now. Not record years but enough for most of the major resorts in Alberta to be open already or by this weekend, as is the case with Marmot Basin. Here in Edmonton what little snow we had is now a distant memory. The River was beginning to ice up even, and now it's flowing as if it was the middle of summer. All of the Hills that opened up on Man made snow are being forced to hold out on what little they managed to make as the temperature is not going to dip below zero until the weekend and it hasn't been below zero for almost a week now. Tommorrow is predicted to be a record high day and the temperature is expected to stay in the teens for a while. Snow? What Snow?

I hate everyone. First off its 80 degrees in late november (50s-60s in the mountains) and now this week nightime temps are in the damn 40s. What the hell is up with that? So now no snowboarding on thanksgiving and still no snow in the forecast. How much worse can it get?
