Is it just me, or the angle, or are those towers really tall?

Theres a place for all of God's creatures, right next to the mashed potatoes.

"You could say that a mountain is alot like a woman, once you think you know every inch of her and you're about to dip your skis into some soft, deep powder...Bam, you've got two broken legs, cracked ribs and you pay your $20 just to let her punch your lift ticket all over again"

I think it is just the camera angle, they're normal sizes.

Here are the pictures I took:

Peak Resorts did the same thing with Crotched Mountain here in NH. They reopened it three years ago after it was closed for 12 years. It's small, but really nice to ski at.
Chairlift n. A transportation system found at most ski areas in which a series of chairs suspended from a cable rapidly conveys anywhere from one to eight skiers from the front of one line to the back of another.

Where did that lift come from? It looks like a relatively late-model Yan, and there aren't too many of those around. Steamboat maybe?

It is a combo or 2 or 3 lifts that came out of Heavenly Valley and have been stored in Burch Const. yard in Carson City, NV for some time.

they still have to do a lot of work up there. the lodge has not even been started yet and will not be a temp structure.

i'll make a visit there again in like a month or so for another update...

Actually, the Powderbowl and that other triple were removed last year to make way for the HSS. So the lifts were only in storage for about a year until Echo bought them.

OK: "some time" = "about a year". I didn't mean to insinuate that they had been laying around for years.

I was up at Echo Mtn Park today, the new resort being developed outside of evergreen (ie the old Squaw Pass Ski Area) and their progress was looking great.

They are going to be splicing the cable for their triple chair here very shortly. The biggest project left is to finish the lodge.

Here are some shots:

Did Mark take you down to the bottom on a sled? It's kind of strange that with that big storm you guys got that there are still bare spots at the base of the lift. However, it could have warmed up a bit down in the lower elevations.

with all of the construction, the snow was getting ripped up pretty good. it is about 70 out in evergreen today, so its at least 55 up at the ski area.

No, Vons is referring to him being in the picture and thought that you took a picture of him. If you open it up, you will see an arrow that points to Vons.

I have heard that B.C. has three lifts in planning one is The gondola from Avon. Yes I was setting the tower, I had no idea who took the pic there where about 10 camra men from print and TV outlets infact we had to have many people escorted out af the area.
