So the Olympics are coming in February and Agenzia Torino has made a lot of lift purchases to prepare for the 2006 games. Here are some of the lifts Doppelmayr Italia has installed in 2004, and more coming in 2005. Pics thanks to funivie.org

There are more pictures of these lifts too if you read the latest Doppelmayr/ Garaventa Customer Newsletter. It shows more pictures of that midstation too.

The Cake Terminals are sooo sexy. I wish more lifts would have them.

The green HSQ is a vault drive right? The terminals are so small compared to the usually huge american terminals we're used to.

I wish more American resorts would paint the elevation and length and all that on the lift, it's interesting to see. That 6th one looks like a Leitner, is that just the European Doppelmayr drive terminal?

The reason why those terminals look different is because they are Agamatic's design, an Italian lift company that was purchased by Doppelmayr in 2000 I believe. However, Doppelmayr/ Garaventa have started using that pancake style terminal a lot on some of its own high-speed lifts. So it's kind of interesting for the bottom terminal to be a pancake style while the top is a UNI-G.

Agamatic designs are one of my favorites.
