Loveland will open tomorrow (14 October) with Chair 1 and the Catwalk/Mambo/Home Run trail. Our little storm (20+ inches at Copper!) certainly helped them out. No word on when A-Basin will open. So if you want to shell out $38, head up I-70 with several thousand of your closest friends.

Did/do they really have all three of those runs open? I checked the snow report and they only had one open, also they only reported snowmaking on one run.

Those three "runs" make up only one true run from the top of chair 1. Catwalk and Home Run are catwalks. Catwalk being at the top of the chair and Home run being the one down the valley back to the base.

Theres a place for all of God's creatures, right next to the mashed potatoes.
"You could say that a mountain is alot like a woman, once you think you know every inch of her and you're about to dip your skis into some soft, deep powder...Bam, you've got two broken legs, cracked ribs and you pay your $20 just to let her punch your lift ticket all over again"

Wildcat ski area will win the first to open this year on the east coast. Opening tomorrow for the weekend only, but with 100% natural snow. They recieved from Wilma over 4 feet of snow! Too bad I have to work, but I'll be skiing next weekend!
Chairlift n. A transportation system found at most ski areas in which a series of chairs suspended from a cable rapidly conveys anywhere from one to eight skiers from the front of one line to the back of another.
