As part of the Flyer's tyre contour upgrade, we're regrading the unload ramp to make it easier to unload. During planning it was decided that the parking rail and chair-lifting hoist were in the way. So, in preparation for the regrade, we removed them this week.

It seems like this will make your job even harder now John with the chair rail being gone from the top terminal. You will have to ski down or ride your sled down to the bottom station to take chairs off the line and then head back up top.

Not really as I don't spend a great deal of time at the top outside of grip rebuilding. I think all I'm going to do with chairs this winter is fix broken grips, and next spring after closing do the annual grip rebuild. I'm hoping to get my own grip facility instead of having to transport grips somewhere else on the hill. We'll see.

Is there another chair parking rail at the bottom of the flyer or are they going to use the lift without chair parking.

:offtopic: but do you have pictures of the new bullwheel on the S lift?

I can't imagine running a detachable without at least a short stubby emergency rail. You've got to have some way to remove damaged grips from the line.
No pics of S project yet- maybe next week depending upon where I go on the hill. Parts for the contour modification should be showing up sometime next week, and until then my partner and I will probably inherit some other maintenance items (we're basically done with ours).
