While at Bever Creek this summer I learnd that due to the 7 Year or mod requirment for load tests, BC had invested in a tractor trailor filled with trash bins which they use ( filled with water) to load the lifts. BC's lift department payed for the trailer and bins by renting them out to other resorts and still does.

I heard that beaver creek also put corks installed from the inside of the garbage cans so all they have to do to drain them is hit the cork with a hammer as the lift is running to drain the buckets...much cleaner than the alternative way to drain them!

We used to use the buckets with corks but had too many problems. Lots of leaks and broken buckets. We now use standard garbage bins and empty them by tipping them off. Just need the all rubber clothing.

Hey guys, i was at the original silver bullet load test at the boat in 86, yes we did use beer (coors light) we did the load test and unloaded the lift that evening after a successful test. The coors people counted every single keg ! so unless they did it again with beer in the last 19 years- that info is not correct
Nice call CM. Its always good to have "on-site" info.Hope to see you again this winter.

We use cardboard boxes with garbage bag's inside of them. We use a hole saw in the back of the box and when we are through just poke a hole in the bag and when the boxe's get back to the bottom they are empty. So far we have re-used the boxe's three times and will be doing two more load test's this fall.
