Fernie Alpine Resort - Base Area Fixed Grips

Here are the other lifts in the base area of Fernie Alpine Resort. We have the Deer Chair (triple) Elk Chair(quad) and the Mighty Moose. All 3 are Doppelmayr lifts.

Deer Chair looks so flat!

That could just be the camera angle, it looks like it gets steeper closer to the top

If I'm not mistaking, the Deer triple was purchased used.

I take it that the tensioning on the deer chair is located in the concrete structure behind the terminal.

The hydraulic rams are anchored to that concrete mast and then attached to the terminal.

I beleave that the Deer Chair was purchused used from Big White. It looks a little flat, but its not the lift that locals hit up on a powder day, if only to access the Bear chair because the ride time is quicker than the Elk Chair. Its mainly green run access chair, for novice skiers.

It seems like Big White used to have alot of triples, i am intrested in skilifts in history and it seems like there is nothing about Big Whites history. So if u knew what this lift was called at Big White, that would be great!
