Hey guys, i just found this thing about ropeways in nepal, theres this lift that looks like it has bamboo towers and is hydro powered! Theres alot of other lifts, here are a few links:

http://www.nepalitim...09/ropeways.htm (About an old high capacity long distance ropeway)

http://www.itdg.org/docs/technical_informa...ial_ropeway.pdf (some more primitive designs)

http://www.photius.com/countries/nepal/eco...y_ropeways.html (one more focusing on freight ropeways)

This one looks good too: http://www.nepalitim...e209/review.htm
