Does anyone know when Steamboat is going to replace the old, slow Sunshine lift with a HSQ?

When ASC has the cash to do it most likely.
I wouldn't hold your breath though, it will probably be a few years. The six pack will most likely go in before Sunshine is upgraded.

I'm not sure about that. Has anyone seen ASC 5 year plan for The Canyons? They are starting back up on multiple lift/terrain expansion and more base village constructions. They must be doing this on a joint development venture, as they do lack the cash to do it on their own. I susspect that they might start doing this with their other markee properties to keep pace with the more healthy industry competitors.

I've heard lots of possible future plans for the canyons. Do you have any updated info on what is really going to happen?

Powdr, are you talking about the plan they put out around 1998, to be finished before the Olympics? Because that was insane, but they hardly scratched the surface of that with the base village. But is there a new plan they're working off of now? I wonder where the money's coming from, it sounds like ASC's still in the red big time. They're installing two new lifts, I hear, but I thought these were only going in to please a developer and not get sued. The original plan had high speed quads all over the place

The two new lifts that the Canyons were supposed to get this year have been put on hold. The lift was is being installing in the village is being purchased by another resort at the Canyons, while ASC is paying for that new quad. I presume they will both go in next year though.

if i remember correctly, replacing the cristie lifts is a higher priority. they also want to replace bashor with a fgt and run it farther up the slope. thunderhead might also have a capacity upgrade too.
