Not only pickup truck country, but WHITE pickup truck country. I think they're promoted in the wards.
There are a lot of surprisingly good new cars and new manufacturers. Even Detroit has a lot of great offerings - but it is the Koreans that have made the fastest and most impressive turn-around. I must admit that I've not driven one, though.
It will be interesting to see how long the new electronic gadgetry that is so commonly included with new cars... lasts.

My wife had a Hyundai in college and it pushed 200k before we sold it and never put more than tires and brakes onto it. The Koreans tend to play it safe in designs but do build decent products unlike the Chinese, but don't expect anything outside of the box. I'm also curious about the touch screen dashboards and hvac controls, it doesn't look rugged enough to me but I guess we'll see in time.

Andoman-
Got to love the Midwest. I used to have relatives from Iowa who came to Colorado and asked "Do you really like Subaru's in Colorado? Our dealership in Des Moines went out of business".
They drove a Buick LaSabre. Go figure.

When I went to college in the upper peninsula of michigan you saw a lot of subaru's and my roommate the first year in the dorms, his dad owned a dealership downstate, and he got all the junker trade ins. I don't think he ever got one with less than 300k on it, and really never had problems. I personally love subaru's but I'm waiting for them to put a third row of seats in the outback and I'll buy one. I like the tribeca but it doesn't get very good MPG. We talked over night and decided to get the Kia, I'm going to beat on them a bit more and see what happens.

Edit: scratch that I caught them trying to get me to sign papers that did not reflect our verbal agreement. "it was just a typo!". Yeah right for exactly 50 dollars more a month and 3.5k less on my trade.

Typo my butt.

It's a decent car for what you are buying it for.

Find a different dealer and buy it from them. Sounds like that dealer likes to scam!

So I guess you run at Bandimere Raceways there in Morrison? Great track for watching, but a very tough place to run with how quick the weather and the corrected altitude can change.

You guessed it. The crew that runs the track is very ready to pull the chicken switch if there is some rain on the ¼ mile. But I have been in a few races where it started to spit and I already left the Christmas tree. That makes for a fun ride.

For bracket racing, I would always add 0.05 seconds to my “race time”. That way if I am ahead of my competitor at the big end I can always let off the throttle or even jump on the brakes.
Anything is possible when you don't understand what you are talking about.

OK guys, time to turn green with envy.

4 cylinders, 78.6 cubic inches, 40 mpg, 44120 miles since leaving the factory in 1985. Same owner. Also driven by his son. Two grandsons are warming up.

(wonder about the mileage? gasoline is $6.5 per gallon; wonder why we haven't invaded any middle-east country...)

Well guys,

If you are in the Denver Metro area and call for Roadside Assist and you see this truck pull up.... Your know who it is...

If you have a Diesel Car or Truck or a BMW It's 99.9% chance I'll be showing up to do the call!

I have an 07 Subaru Impreza hatchback! I bought it because I need a car that can get me to the mountain no matter the weather or conditions plus I have a set of studed snow tires for extra protection! Most personal at my mountain own a Subaru!

I'm strongly considering replacing my 2000 Isuzu Rodeo with a Subaru Impreza or Outback. Leaning toward the Outback. Ready for a little better gas mileage and my Rodeo is getting tired although it has been an excellent vehicle and has transported me from city to mountains and back on many powder days for 12 years. I still have an older F-150 in case the snow gets super deep or I have to haul something or as a back-up vehicle but I have definately found out where people get all those ideas for FORD as an acronym, especially Fix Or Repair Daily! Otherwise a great truck when it is running correctly and not leaking anything underneath. It is a little gas-thirsty also other than that it is great, really.

What year's the F150? They've had a few off years here and there but overall pretty darn impressive trucks. The GMC/Chevy 1/2 tons are pretty darn good too. I've got a GMC 1500 just no options, bare bone work truck. Love it to death!

I'd also look at an Escape, don't know how it compares for gas mileage to the outback, but it's one good small SUV.
