Hey, just a question, when people by tickets etc do you (the resort) make your own software? or do you buy it? If so how do you make it or what software is it?

Is this like a trick question or something? Most ski areas accept credit cards and buy credit card readers from their credit card provider or bank. They can use this same machine while selling tickets, food, ski packages, etc. However, there are companies out there that have better software that's a lot easier to use like Siriusware.com, passport-technologies.com and rentbizz.com. I presume that skidata.com also has its own credit card machien reader by now too.

Resorts generally use a pre-written software package for ticket sales. We use Comptrol - http://www.comptrolsystems.com for our tickets. The credit/debit card readers are from the bank we deal with.

There is a site some where on the internet that has links to all the things you need to start a four season resort with skiing, golf and boating. However, I forgot to save that link onto this computer when I installed XP.
But yea, it has links to companies that make trail maps, ticket printing and much more.
