This will be on my website with more when it starts working again but for now heres a pic of a old Bubbled Yan HSQ chair that i found near the base of the old gondola at lake louise, i was thinking, neither of the Yan HSQ chairs at LL were bubbled were they?

Ive gotta tonne of pics right now and so im not gonna post most of them here since it would take ages.

The bubbled chairs were used in the summer for the sightseeing gondola. Riders could choose from an old VonRoll Cabin or an open Yan or Bubbled Yan chair to ride up the mountain in. I do believe LL has a few Bubbled Lietner chairs around for the same purpose for the year or two when the sight seeing gondola was operated on the Glacier chair.

Hmm, i see. When i was there they still were using the Glacier Express and were working on the gondola. The loading procedure is kind of intresting.they stop the conveyer system in the terminal, pp get on and then they start it again and one chair goes off, and at the same time another comes in, i dunno you guys prob have seen it before...

If you go to Chairlift.org and click on the Lake Louise link, there are some pictures of the old Quicksilver carriers on the Friendly Giant lift. The summer gondola that Max is talking about I psume is the friendly giant lift since LL also put the Von Roll cabins on that lift in the summer.

I kind of would like to snag one of those bubbled carriers, but LL now uses them as benches.

Actually, the cabins that LL used on the Friendly Giant were not from the Von Roll Gondola...they were an old type of CWA.

You're right, after looking at the pictures again they are CWA cabins.

There is a Quicksilver chair at Sun Valley in their boneyard. They have all the old hsq parts(motor rooms, gearboxes, controls, sheaves) plus other lift parts

I think it's wierd that YAN used female wheels on his grips. I just think they look like they would be more unstable in the terminal.

Also- do YAN grips fro quads w/ bubbles work in terminals for the non- bubbled chairlifts, or not, because Sun Valley may have used that chair at some time.

I have pics of most of the old hsq parts. I can't post them all, but any specific requests for pics of specific parts?
