Went over to Aspen/Snowmass yesterday for our annual Memorial Day weekend Independence Pass drive. I noticed that in addition to Fanny Hill being gone, which I knew about, Wood Run has no rope, no chairs, and no bottom terminal. Is it going away as well, or are they relocating the bottom terminal for some reason? It appears that the new gondi's bottom terminal will be in the parking lot below the old Fanny Hill bottom terminal, but that won't conflict with the existing Wood Run line. Any ideas?

I have a feeling that it's completely being removed since it was really just a transportation lift. I should contact Aspen to find what's up with it.

They are likely removing Wood Run to make way for the Cabriolet connecting the lower village (yet to be built) with the existing upper village. I will most definately miss that chair. It was an excellent way to avoid the AM Fanny Hill crowds which I don't think the new chair (HSS) will fully alleviate. I think I'll plan on parking at Two Creeks until the "improvements" are done.

We almost always park over in Two Creeks. It's just so nice to park and take a very short walk to the hsq. And up that way.

ASC e-mailed me back today and said that the lift is being removed to make way for the gondola that's being installed next season.

Funny that they're doing it this year.

does anyone know where this lift will be going so soon as it is removed. Has another ski resort bought it or are they going to put in the boneyard for a while.

I presume the bone yard since Aspen Skiing Company still has quite a few Riblets.
