I'm trying to find out what would cause the lift bar on a Borvig C-Lift to jam and not open . Can anyone help?

Are you talking about the footrest/comfort bar assembly?

Please excuse my ignorance. I am not a skier. As I understand it, the chairlift has a bar that is supposed to open when it reaches the top of the run to allow you drop from the lift. This bar jammed and would not open preventing people from the lift. I am trying to determine what would cause this jam.

Normally you're supposed to open it manually ---.

Normally they are opend by the riders on the chair. If the bar has footrests, usually the problem is someone has not moved ther feet off the bar and they are inadvertantly holding it closed.

I have been on a borvig before where the bar has gotten jammed, we could easily pry it up but i could understand how a group of little kids could get stuck...

...it was caused by the bar itself being warped and getting jammed on one of the support posts that hold the seat up. Most support posts, or whatever you would call them, seem to be angled and are flush with the back of the seat these days...

..hopefully that may answer your question, but if you have no experience on chairs i may have just confused you more...

I stole a pic from the gallery to show what happened to me, and what may have happened to the people you were talking about.

Who-hoo! Finally, Chicopee gets some notice.

I've never had that happen there on either of the Borvig lifts, for what it's worth.
