OK, so I was playing with the magic chair's signal button yesterday, (I thought it was weird that they didn't turn it off for the summer) but anyways, what is the "code" for signaling. Like _ beeps for slow, _ beeps for start...etc. thanks

Summit at Snoqualmie uses a 3 second constant ring for starting the lift and I believe two quick rings for the phone.

Copper we used one for "yes/start/speed up"
two for "no"
three for "call me"or "pick up the phone"
and four for the motor room to call us

I can't remember what Crystal Mountians signals were. I do remember that right after a stop or slowdown, you got on the bat phone and report an all clear before the top operator kicked up the speed or the start.

We use two beeps for everything at Mt. Sunapee. This includes "Start" and "Speed up". Whenever we need to talk to anybody on the phone the ringers are plenty loud enough to indicate the phone is ringing inside or out. If the lift has chairs to flip, three beeps indicates start flipping chairs for which the top op flips all of them.

Chairlift n. A transportation system found at most ski areas in which a series of chairs suspended from a cable rapidly conveys anywhere from one to eight skiers from the front of one line to the back of another.

If we weren't using the phone, like on Rex where there wasn't one, it was two beeps for 'all clear' and one beep to acknowledge, then whichever operator had the controls could start or speed up the lift. Three beeps meant 'pick up the phone' because there were no ringers on our nuclear submarine growler phones. I remember all the lifts except for Midway and Rex also had a mountain phone right on the control pedestal, so if there was confusion the ops could call each other on that. No mistaking that particular ring.

They are running magic this year - AussieRob told me, as we're getting the same bike carriers as theirs.

For signals we're pretty much the same as Red with one beep to pick up the sound phone and two for start/ready/speed up. We use three from the bottom to indicate the supervisor/manager just loaded. :---:

Magic willl be running this summer for a kids/beginners bike park. Odd thing is you can ride up to the top of the lift quicker than the lift will get you there.

Allan, what speed are you planning to run?

As for the signals being on, they're not connected through the control power switch so the only way to shut them dwn is to disconnect the battery. I don't know why that is.

It's funny you should mention that. We finally finished the electical upgrade on the Eagle yesterday, and it turns out the signal power isn't run through the key anymore. It's now like the Magic chair. I think we'll be fixing that soon, but for now the beeper works all the time.

hah, we just call the top station to alert a management type coming! We're planning on running @ 1.4 m/s I believe, with a 1.0 m/s slow speed.
