It appears that Crested Butte's old Doppelmayr T-bar, located next to the Peachtree lift will be replaced by a Leitner-Poma fixed Quad this summer. The T-bar is one of the oldest lifts on the mountian.

Well yah, that's what the L-P advertisement said, but that doesn't mean it will happen... I twas funny, because in the back of SAM in the news section, it says that the project has been put on hold because it was approved, but then they decided to bring it to a higher judge, so you never know. It is L-P's job to advertise that it will be going in this year (a good stragegy of luring in costomers), but it is not looking like it will happen this year even if Breck tries... they say that they can bring it to a higher court, and then have the lift in by the fall... so they may be able to have it in, depending on when the lift gets approved... plus it can be pretty sketchy up there at 12,800 feet, so we'll see.

yeah, its going to be the new "West Wall" Lift.....i dont know exactly where its going to go, the best place woul be to the bottom of twister lift, that gives another access route onto the mountain, if they go just to the top of the t-bar like what ive been hearing....well thats just dumb

Off topic but the lift has been approved and will be going in this summer.
Bringing the T-bar's replacement to the bottom of Twister would require a lift crossing (of Silver Queen) and a midstation, since the slope the current lift serves is utilised for races and such. As I recall, the terrain between the bottom of Twister and the current T-bar slope is kind of convoluted and wouldn't make for a very direct line.

No offense, but read page 22 of SAM, article called "highest Lift on Hold"

Another note. Silver Woods Express is noted as a 6 pack even though it is noted as a HS4 on the Silver Star Mtn website.

Here is my 2 cents worth. When I was a marketing person, we had to have ads in place well in advance for publication. When the ad went to press it was probably still a go, as you read the ad it does say "Projects as of April 4, 2005" and the lift was put on hold Early April... hmmm.... pretty much at the same time. The article about it being put on hold was probably approved for publication a few days before the magazine went to print.

...and nationally-pulished magazines have much earlier deadlines than a daily newspaper. The magazine could come out on thr 7th of April and you'd find a newspaper from the 6th contradicting a magazine article.
