Does anyone have any pictures or information on people who have chairlifts on their property? In a previous topic, they were talking about funiculars or inclined elevators, but i'm talking about a chairlift, be it Quad or Double chairs. Any pictures of ones in peoples lands?
Any thoughts?

This is kind of a weird question because there are several lifts on private property that arn't at ski areas. Are you wanting to know if there are any lifts that are used by private individuals only?
There are several of these types of lifts over in Switzerland and Austria, but only a few here in North America.

Private individuals, i'm really looking for lifts not at ski resorts or amusement parks. Any pictures of notable installations, or websites?

We use to live near a place on the east coast that had a double chair with only 4 chairs on the line and the lift was around 1,000ft long.
But it's no longer standing.

where on the East Coast? I'd love to buy a small hill some day and install a ropetow on it to have my own personal ski area.. of course a t-bar would be better!
I imagine the electricity cost to run a personal chairlift would turn most people away from having it for personal use only though.

The Elkhorn lift at Sun Valley is actually owned by Sun Valley. The reason why it isn't listed on the Dollar Mountain trail map is because it hadn't operated for a few years because of the lack of snow on that side of the mountain. However, it was operational this winter and for some reason, there are plans to replace it with a detachable. Don't ask me why since I think it sounds kind of stupid myself.

There's a chair lift with wooden towers and a curve north of Steamboat right before you get to the Strawberry Park hot springs. I'm not sure if it runs anymore. Also on the same road closer to town there's a tow rope with a lighted ski run in someone's backyard.

That is not ski related. I have talked to the owners in search of a lost area up there and that is some type of track where a car rides on top. it sounded strange but it isn't ski related!

i always wanted to have my own personal chairlift to take me from my apartment in college to a couple of our favorite bars. i was "drawing up plans" one night when i was pretty tanked and we all decided that if we were richer, we'd do it.
who wouldn't pay (in college) to go from bar to bar on a chairlift?
