12hp? Wow that's small! And I thought the 60hp in our Mueller was small!

We start our diesels every morning and run them for 5 or 10 mins before we start the lift in the winter. A monthly check is to run the lift on standby for 30 mins and we used to do this during the day with public. However, being who we are we either do it in the morning or at night while checking grips. I would rather have public on the line so you have some kind of load and the diesel is working how it is supposed to but I'm not in charge and I don't get paid to think. (Foot Note) All of our diesels are rated at the same HP as the Primary so we still have the same capacity on standby.

Allan on aux didn't you say it took some 45 minutes to go up red? On a 12hp unless its a really short lift i bet it takes forever.

Earlier this year Solitude was cut off from power so they were running all thier lifts on aux. I had never been on lifts while they ran on aux so I was thrilled and oddly enough (as the chairs were being run very slowly) I was probbally the only one thrilled about them being on aux.

Yup - 45 minutes at a whopping speed of around .5 m/s.
