Wow 1.30 for gas. Highest in vancouver its been is probably 1.10.

Go smart cars! When we where in europe we stumbled across the biggest smart dealer in Europe and i guess in the world. Near Ulm in Germany. My dream come true! At the car show in vancouver smart had a thing where you could test drive smart cars. I went in one, but didnt drive. Those things are awesome.

I have to ask...  do you still have bikes with thousands of miles still on them?  Or did the rides around the lake, turn into drives around the lake. :)
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

The bikes have been retired for now, but I hope to get another one to use, if the price of fuel goes up anymore. My last around the lake ride way about a year and a half ago, so I would say that I'm not really up for a ride that long anymore (it was 35 miles all the way around). Hiking trips at ski areas have taken the place of bike rides.
Chairlift n. A transportation system found at most ski areas in which a series of chairs suspended from a cable rapidly conveys anywhere from one to eight skiers from the front of one line to the back of another.

When I bought the Cavalier, 27.5 MPG seemed pretty good. Now I wish it had better... I'm thinking that the Geo (well, Chevrolet now) models will be selling pretty well, as well as all those Toyotas that claim better than 30 MPG.
Bud- I like the electric car idea. With regen capability, my commute wouldn't be that bad at all. 1100' vertical on the south (Leadville) side, and 1600' on the north- it might do pretty well.

We went from $2.69 to $2.99 in two days and I haven't even been out to see prices today.

On a side note I have purchased my 55 gallon drum, a pump and in the next two weeks I will be running on Vegetable Oil, a 20/80: gas/veggie oil mix. WIth that every 125 miles I drive will cost the price of 1 gallon of gasoline
It also means every 125 miles I will save 4 gallons of a fossil fuel and my emissions will reduce signifigantly. Go diesel!

Here it ranges from $2.72-3.19 for regular. It depends on the station. Safeway is by far the cheapest and the most visited.

Holy $#!t ! I've heard that there are places jacking prices up far beyond even Katrina-inflated levels, and here's proof. Trust people to try and make a buck off a catastrophe.

We just hit a high price of $2.95 on the shipment that came in today. Fortunately I got to the station before they raised it from $2.73. They havent gotten outrageous with it here yet. But it definately is impacting how much I drive.

It's dropped down from the post-Katrina spike down to around $2.98 down here

Does anyone here have a hybrid?
