Sorry the scan isnt too good quality, and that it is cut off. I found this under my brothers bed - I think he 'borrowed' it from their booth at the Portland ski show. I cut off the golf course section, but got the entire ski area. The colors are off a bit on the left side.

It looks like Deer Valley might be the ones who are going to run and manage Tamarack Resort. On their website, they talked about this and how they wanted the highest excellence for their guests, and Deer Valley met their standards.

That would be interesting to have DV running it. Although that could just mean that they want to make the service like DV's

No it talked about having Deer Valley manage the resort. It seems like Tamarack is a resort where they are having other companies manage the area. Intrawest is running their golf course and Deer Valley looks to be running the ski resort. Who's going to manage the resort lodging, ASC? :---:

That would be, uh, interesting to have ASC running any part of this place. They ran themselves into the ground by building too much lodging at The Canyons, which didn't sell like they thought it would

Apparently Tamarack is going to concentrate primarily on the activities at hand rather than building a $*&tload of condominiums. They intend to sell real estate to finance things, but the buyers will be paying to build housed, lodges, etc.
The mountain manager or lift manitenance manager (I didn't hear which) came down last Tuesday to check out our two Omega lifts, which leads me to believe that Tamarack has bought or will be buying Pomas at first.
On a related note, Jim Spenst, Copper's VP of mountain operations (also known as our mountain manager or at least that's what most places call them) has resigned so he can take the VP job up at Tamarack. He will still have responsibilities for the mountain, (both current and helping plan the next phase) but also for any lodging that the company will build directly as well as the golf course and food and beverage. It sounds as if he will have the general manager's position combined with director of planning, at least at first.

Yes, Tamarack is getting two Leitner-Poma's. They were planned to be installed last year, but I think they were a little short on cash.

It opened this winter but only for the people that bought real-estate at the mountain. They used snowcats to get people up the hill.

That would kinda suck to have to use a snowcat to get to the top of the hill

Maybe, but you're the only ones on the entire hill. That can't be all bad. I found a brochure today for this season, and it says that the maximum group size for the cat ride is 10- per day. Talk about exclusive...

Well, what I read is that only real-estate buyers; the people who bought home lots this winter, could ski there.

I wonder if they got preference when it came to filling the chuckwagon; the brochure gave a reservation numer for the general public.
